Bryan Vincent Stork was born on December 24, 1978 in San Diego, California to Dan and Peg Stork, shortly behind his twin sister Kym. He lived in Morganville, New Jersey, and Beavercreek, Ohio, before settling in Columbus, Ohio. On July 1, while boating with his family in Door County, Wisconsin, he accidentally drowned. Despite an incredible rescue effort, he died early the next morning, beside his wife and children and other family.
Bryan had the unique ability to create deep authentic relationships with everyone he encountered. He continued to nurture his friendships from Beavercreek High School (class of ’97), the University of Cincinnati, and Wright State University. He worked in a research lab at Wright State and developed his unique love for data and his love for advanced excel skills. Later in life he used his gifts as an IB coordinator and school counselor at Dublin Coffman High School and Grandview Heights High School.
He poured into others in all areas of his life. He was active in young life through peer listening, cross country, track and soccer and even became a cheerleader his senior year. He and his sister were the unofficial pit crew for his dad Dan’s dragster racing team. As an adult he coached soccer, advised Teen Institute and Tri Village Mentor League, served on his church Host Team and as a Bible Study Fellowship leader, chaperonedtrips to Costa Rica, played ultimate Frisbee, Euchre. Bryan thoughtfully planned gatherings with his co-workers, church, neighbors, family and friends old and new. He had a passion for both playing music and going to concerts. He was up for any adventure with those he loved especially outdoors. Bryan had the unique ability to make each person he met feel loved and seen.
He was a true follower of Christ and it fueled every aspect of his life. He quietly nudged and guided those he loved to find that same relationship, but he lived a life that spoke passionately. From his closest friends to the people he met in passing, he listened, he met each person where they were and encouragedthem with love and grace. He fought for those without a voicefrom his students to his family. His faith and integrity were apparent in everything he did. His pride for his family and joy in their adventures was always his favorite topic to discuss.
Bryan is survived by his loving wife of 21 years Lisa, their beloved children Maggie and Myles, his devoted mother Peggy, his twin sister Kym (Curt) Beasley nephews Jaxson and Quinn, Uncle Brad and Natalia Stork and children Noah and Taggert(Katen), Aunt Carol and her daughter Heather (Kevin), father-in-law and mother-in-law Donald and Jane Leonard, sister-in-law Jennifer (Rob) Kitchen, and nephews and nieces Spencer Baldwin, Ava and Sofia, brother-in-law Stephen (Ismenia) Leonard and niece and nephew Merida and Thiago and many additional extended family, friends, neighbors and communities who were more like family.
