Brooke Ketner Farthing, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully in Riverside Hospital, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and selfless care for others.
Brooke is survived by her devoted husband, Ronald Farthing; her daughter, Bailey Randall, and son-in-law, Darrell Randall; her son, Forrest Farthing; and her cherished granddaughter, Remi Randall. She was preceded in death by her parents, Shirley and Wayne Ketner, and her brother, Brent Ketner.
Brooke will be remembered for her infectious joy, her unmistakable and heartfelt laugh, and her spirited, feisty nature. She had a rare gift for making everyone she met feel welcomed, valued, and loved—whether lifelong friend or complete stranger.
Her life’s work reflected her compassionate heart. Brooke dedicated herself to caring for others through her roles with the Ohio School for the Deaf, the Child Life Department at Children’s Hospital, and Dublin City Schools, where she worked as a school bus driver and trainer until her retirement in 2024. She formed deep and lasting friendships in every chapter of her life and treasured those connections above all else.
Brooke embraced life fully and joyfully. She was always ready for a celebration, never turning down a chance to gather with loved ones. The beach was her happy place, and she made it a priority to visit at least once each year, rounding out her tan.
Her rescue dogs held a special place in her heart and were truly part of her family. In honor of Brooke’s deep love for animals, the family kindly requests that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to RESCUEDOhio.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Crooked Can Brewing Co. in Hilliard, Ohio on Friday, May 15th from 5pm to 8pm. To honor Brooke’s vibrant spirit, guests are encouraged to casually wear her favorite colors: hot pink, turquoise, or lime as we gather to celebrate her beautiful life. We will toast and share memories of a woman who impacted us all.
Brooke’s warmth, kindness, and vibrant spirit will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who were fortunate enough to know and love her.
