Beth Kitts

Sep 13, 1956 — Jun 27, 2026

Beth Ann Kitts, 69, entered into the presence of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on June 27, 2026, at 4:30 p.m. at The Gables in Marysville, Ohio. She was born on September 13, 1956, in Marietta, Ohio, to Richard and Bessie Poole. Beth grew up in Reno, Ohio, and graduated from Marietta High School. She spent much of her career serving her community at the Washington County Public Library, where her love of books and people came together. More importantly, she devoted her life to being a loving mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend. Through perseverance, sacrificial love, and unwavering faith, Beth built a home where her daughters always knew they were deeply loved. She is survived by her daughters, Abbey Kromhout and her husband, John, and Jenny Reiser and her husband, Andy. She was a proud and devoted grandmother to Michael, Gabriella, and Ali Kromhout, and Teddy, Olive, and Timmy Reiser, each of whom brought her immeasurable joy. She is also survived by her siblings, Carmen Vanscoy and her husband, Danny, Donald Poole, and Richard Poole, along with many beloved nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Bessie Poole. Beth found joy in life’s simple gifts. She loved reading, long walks, playing games, watching The Andy Griffith Show, reminiscing about treasured memories, and striking up conversations with nearly everyone she met. She adored her sweet dog, Buddy, whose companionship brought her years of happiness and comfort. She had an extraordinary ability to make people laugh and to bring light into difficult moments. She possessed the rare gift of knowing exactly when someone needed laughter and exactly when they simply needed someone to sit beside them in their pain. Whether through a witty remark, a listening ear, or a comforting embrace, she made people feel seen, loved, and understood. As a mother, Beth sacrificed tirelessly for her daughters, always putting their needs before her own and doing what she believed was best for them, even when it required great personal sacrifice. As a grandmother, she delighted in every moment with her grandchildren, showering them with love, laughter, and encouragement. She faithfully cared for her parents, stood beside her siblings through life’s challenges, and valued every member of her extended family. Above all else, Beth loved her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Her faith was the foundation of her life. She depended on the Holy Spirit for strength through life’s greatest trials, entrusted every burden to the Lord, and was quick to give Him the glory for every blessing. Those who knew her witnessed a woman whose kindness reflected Christ’s love. She was one who was quick to forgive, slow to anger, generous with compassion, and steadfast in her devotion to family, friends, and neighbors. One of the quotes she kept displayed in her home beautifully expresses the faith by which she lived: “I believe in the sun even when it is not shining, love even when I am alone, and in God even when He is silent.” Beth will be remembered for her unwavering love, her joyful sense of humor, her gentle wisdom, and the way she made others feel safe to laugh, cry, and simply be themselves. Her family will especially miss her laughter, her thoughtful counsel, and her faithful presence through every season of life. A memorial service celebrating Beth’s life will be held on Saturday, August 8, 2026 at 11am at Hilliard Church of Christ, 4300 Avery Road, Hilliard, Ohio 43026. She was cremated, and no visitation is planned. A reception will immediately follow the service at the church. Though her family grieves her absence, they rejoice in the hope of the resurrection and the assurance that she is forever at peace in the presence of her Savior. Beth’s greatest desire would be that those who knew her would come to know the saving grace of Jesus Christ and the peace she found in Him. “He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.” (Revelation 21:4)
