Anita L. McGinnis

Anita L. (Kusturin) McGinnis, age 89, of Hilliard, Ohio, passed away at home on Monday, December 15, 2025. Born in Chicago, IL, to the late Andrew Kusturin and Ann Schade, Anita and husband John, raised their family in the Hilliard area after moving from Georgia in the family station wagon while pregnant and with five kids, a dog, and a cat, in tow.  Anita was recently able to enjoy her 89th birthday at home with all six of her children.  In addition to her parents, Anita was preceded in death by her beloved husband John, her brother David Kusturin, and her son-in-law Daniel Miles.

Anita is survived by her six children: Terry McGinnis-Miles, Tom (Erin) McGinnis, Russell (Talea) McGinnis, Augie McGinnis, Ann McGinnis, and Todd (Christy) McGinnis; her eleven grandchildren: Ashley (Jon) Williamson, Stacey (Daniel) Morris, Tasha (Josh) Braniff, Devon (Hailey) McGinnis, Chris (Sarah) Massie, Andrew Massie, Shelby Fleshman, Sydney Fleshman, Devin (Mike) Casteel, Amanda McGinnis, and Karissa (Nathan) Miller; 19 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law Sandra Kusturin, sister Vicki (Roy) Fisher, several cousins, and many other loving family members and friends.

The family would like to extend a special Thank You to Anita’s hospice nurse, Melissa, for her wonderful and compassionate care.

Family will receive friends from 4:00p.m-7:00p.m. MONDAY at the TIDD FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 5265 Norwich Street, Hilliard, OH 43026 (614)-876-1722. Her Funeral Service will be held 11:00a.m. TUESDAY, DECEMBER 23, 2025 and family will welcome friends before the service beginning at 10:00a.m. TUESDAY. Anita will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband John at Wesley Chapel Cemetery.
