Anita Fitzpatrick

Anita S. Fitzpatrick, age 75, of Norwich Township, passed from this life into Eternal life with Christ on Sunday, July 17, 2022 while at home with family at her side. Anita struggled valiantly for two years against metastatic breast cancer, always with a positive attitude and a look to the future. Born on November 3, 1946 in Columbus, Ohio to the late Arlie E. Weaver and Jeanette Jane (Morris) Weaver, Anita was preceded in death by her parents, and many aunts and uncles that she loved. Anita is survived by her husband of 52 years Robert W. Fitzpatrick, her son Sean R. Fitzpatrick (Darlene), her daughter Shannon C. Rece (Cliff), sibling  Nancy Vagnier (Roger), grandson Blake A. Rece, granddaughters Abigail L. Rece and Zoe R. Fitzpatrick, nephew Royce Vagnier and niece Sheri Stover, special Sisters in Christ Jeri Wilson, Patti Ringle, Jeanie Starr, and Kathy Herbert. She was baptized in her pre-teen years at the Oakland Park Church of Christ. She was most recently a member of the Hilliard Church of Christ. She graduated from Mifflin High School in the Class of 1964. Anita had extraordinary talent as a seamstress and worked at Montaldo’s in downtown Columbus for several years before beginning a career in the banking industry. She worked for Ohio National Bank and City National Bank at various times and retired from BMI-FCU after 25 years of service in a variety of supervisory positions. Not one to stay idle, Anita worked part-time at Karen’s Hallmark store after retirement and loved to handcraft knitted/crocheted items, many in support of various hospital and charitable organizations supporting newborns. She had a love for the beauty of this world and spent many hours weeding the various flower beds around her home. She took great pride in keeping the weeds at bay through the spring and summer seasons. She was the guiding force for her family and will be greatly missed by all.

Family will receive friends from 12:30 PM to 2:00 PM Saturday, July 23, 2022 at the Tidd Family Funeral Home, 5265 Norwich St, Hilliard, Ohio 43026 (614.876.1722). A memorial service will take place at 2:00 PM immediately following visitation.
