Alexander Ritchie, Jr.

Alexander Ritchie Jr., father, grandfather and great grandfather, age 100, of Hilliard, passed away July 8, 2026. He was born on September 29, 1925 in Rocky River, OH to the late Alexander and Francis (Temple) Ritchie Sr. Alexander was a member of Hilliard Presbyterian Church, where he was a Deacon. He was a US Navy Veteran who served in WWII and retired from the Ohio Department of Natural Resources as a Soil Scientist. Preceded in death by loving wife Marjorie (Dawson) Ritchie whom he married December 19, 1948 and to this union they shared 5 children, preceded in death by infant son Jeffrey and survived by James Ritchie, Jon Ritchie, Jane (Larry) Long and Joyce (Russell) McCarty. Also survived by sister Marge Ropko, grandchildren Megan (T.J.) Ice and Ian (Hailey) McCarty, great grandchildren Xavier and Claire Ice, Eleanor and Peyton McCarty. Family will receive friends on Monday, July 13, 2026 from 10am-12pm at the TIDD FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 5265 Norwich St., Hilliard, OH 43026; where funeral service will follow at 12pm. Interment Wesley Chapel Cemetery.
